Award-winning ensemble Groupwork present When Prophecy Fails, a daring new work of physical theatre. Inspired by a 1954 study that introduced the groundbreaking theory of human behaviour now known as cognitive dissonance, When Prophecy Fails reimagines the events surrounding history’s first UFO doomsday cult. Convinced the apocalypse is imminent, the group prepare for salvation by flying saucer. When reality collides with belief, they are forced into a profound psychological crisis, exposing what happens when faith begins to fracture.

Following a sold-out run at the Edinburgh International Festival, Groupwork bring their signature blend of explosive physicality and striking visual storytelling to Glasgow. A hypnotic tale of devotion, disillusionment and the end of the world.
