Moving with Text
This performance has taken place in the past
with Eilidh Loan
Movement in theatre is always exciting. From fight scenes, dance sequences and creative scene transitions. But what other roles can movement play when developing a piece of work?
Actor, writer and director Eilidh Loan will lead a movement based workshop giving you an insight into her process when creating characters and approaching text. Using simple and easy to access movement tools build from Rudolf Laban’s principles and putting them into action, you will explore the effects an actor’s physical choices has on their voice, emotional stakes and other members of the company.
Through this workshop you will also discover how movement practises can also translate into writing text and the detail that it creates when brining your piece to life. Regardless of your movement experience, Eilidh is keen to create a super supportive environment and prove that approaching work with a movement mind is not as scary or complicated as it may seem.
