with Maryam Hamidi

This performance has taken place in the past

Buffering and Writer’s Block is a workshop for story creators in any practice area. Through conversation let’s go on a walk through the terrifying darkness of ‘writer’s block’. And then let’s discard the term ‘writer’s block’ and discuss alternative approaches to processing creative challenges and trusting the unknown next idea. We’ll explore the parameters of where ideas might happen and get stuck into some haphazard story ideas.

Maryam is a Scotland-based writer and actor, interested in genre bent storytelling about the immigrant experience, motherhood and matri-lineal relationships. Her most recent credits include Ghost Stories:I Look Down on Myself (Pitlochry Festival Theatre), United Kingdoms:Flying Dreams (Radio 4) as well as Amnesty Award Nominated The Chronicles of Irania (AMP, Co-written with Catrin Evans) and multiple episodes of CBeebies Molly & Mack. She has written and directed short films BAHAR (Moquette, BFI/Short Circuit) and BLOODY LOVE (Clan, SFTN) and is currently developing work for stage and screen.
