Our Participation programme is the thread that weaves through so much of what we do.  We seek to spread the net of inclusion and experience of the arts further than the professional sector and are excited to grow and diversify the communities we engage with – bringing together participants with a range of life experiences and perspectives, to ensure that we remain relevant to the community on our doorstep, across the wider city and beyond.

This autumn we look forward to working closely with our new Artistic Director Jemima Levick, to review what we’ve achieved to date, and consider how to develop our offering for the long term, in order to welcome a whole range of people in to the Tron Participation family.

As we take time to reflect and plan, we will be delivering a scaled-back programme of activities in this season. There will still be opportunities to take part in building-based workshops for 14 to 17 year olds as well as activities for 18+ year olds linked to the programme of visiting work. We will also be piloting a community-based project, and an exciting schools project in December.

We hope that you will continue to engage with us over this time and look forward to sharing some exciting new opportunities in 2025.

2024 Participation highlights so far:

Walking Tall Tales artists worked in Tollcross Park, Malls Mire Community Woodlands and Pirie Park Primary delivering our outdoor sensory storytelling project.  Little Imaginations went on big adventures using props, music, movement and song with nature as the backdrop.  Supported by Glasgow City Council Area Partnerships funding.

Tron Theatre Company’s production of Escaped Alone acted as inspiration for projects with different groups including workshops with Caledonia Primary School exploring themes of global citizenship; the creation and performance of two responses to Caryl Churchill’s text by Tron Young Company; Tron Studio’s Cup of Tea at the End of the World project and a series of Tronversations, including with community group People’s Past, People’s Future.

Tron Youth Theatre Seniors and Tron Ambassadors (work experience programme for young people in S4-S6) worked together on the performance project Lost.  Youth Theatre developed and performed the show, whilst our Ambassadors worked with the marketing department to create a poster image and manage the marketing campaign, successfully selling out all 3 performances.
