Fundraising Assistant

Hours: 28 hours per week
Salary: £16-18,000 per annum (pro-rata)

The Tron Theatre is recruiting for a Fundraising Assistant to join our Business Development Team.

The position of Fundraising Assistant is to support the Business Development Manager to maximise the Tron’s income through sponsorship, fundraising, commercial exploitation of the building and identification of potential income streams which exist or could be developed within the organisation.

The Fundraising Assistant will work closely with the Box Office, Production, Press & Marketing, Education and Bar & Catering Departments in co-ordinating activity within the building. 

Fundraising is crucial to the future success of the Tron.  The successful candidate will have the experience and skills to support the Business Development Manager to develop a regular and sustained income stream for the Tron.

**Please note this role is supported by Glasgow City Council through the Glasgow Guarantee and is only open to graduates (aged 20+) who are currently unemployed/underemployed and have graduated within the last 12 months. Applicants must be Glasgow residents.

KEY TASKS:

  • Research and identify suitable Trusts and Foundations to support the Tron Theatre and prepare and administer funding applications.
  • Research and identify potential new corporate supporters and service existing corporate sponsorship agreements
  • Support in the delivery of the Tron Patron individual giving membership scheme including preparing a monthly e-newsletter
  • Work with the Business Development Manager to analyse customer database and identify potential new donors
  • Contribute to the production and design of marketing materials to support fundraising activities
  • Assist with fundraising research and development of new income streams
  • Provide administrative support to the Business Development Manager

SKILLS/APTITUDES REQUIRED:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Sound administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good computer literacy
  • Database management
  • Ability to work on own initiative

The Tron Theatre is committed to offering work experience opportunities for college and university students studying a theatre related course. If you are a school pupil please check out our Tron Ambassadors scheme.

We receive lots of emails throughout the course of a year from students asking to come and do work experience with us but due to the nature of our programme we cannot accommodate everyone. However we feel by formalising our approach to work experience we will have a clear guideline for those wishing to gain a placement at the Tron Theatre.
