Crafting a Character
This performance has taken place in the past
with Gail Winar
Dust the cobwebs off your skills, reawaken your spirit of fun, and learn to play again! By playing we are placed directly into our bodies and in the present moment.
This half-day collaborative, creative, and seriously fun workshop delves into character development through improvisation, physicalisation, and inner monologuing. Through theatre games, clowning and improv we’ll explore the foundational principles of circumstance, action, justification and objectives, and how those principles affect character development and relationships. We’ll harness our imagination; free our bodies; silence our “inner critic”; and tap into new ways to express ourselves. This workshop aims to build our character development toolbox, enrich our sense of spontaneity, and rediscover the sheer joy of creating!
As Viola Spolin said, “Everyone can act. Everyone can improvise. Anyone who wishes to can play in the theatre.”
