Join award winning playwright Kieran Hurley for this workshop on the tricky business of redrafting, and how to move your work beyond its early stages. Warning: the workshop will involve being subjected to some very early drafts of Kieran’s plays.
Participants will be given an insight into a playwright's process, and they different routes by which a play might end up "finished." Hopefully they'll leave with a refreshed idea of how to approach rewriting and overcome some of the challenges of redrafting in their own work.
Kieran Hurley’s recent plays include Mouthpiece (Traverse / HighTide), Square Go (with Gary McNair, Paines Plough Roundabout); A Six-Inch Layer of Topsoil and the Fact It Rains (Perth Theatre); Heads Up (Show And Tell); Kieran’s screenplay Beats, co-written with director Brian Welsh and adapted from his hit play of the same title, is in cinemas this year executive produced by Steven Soderbergh in association with Ken Loach’s Sixteen Films.
