10th March 2020
Working with… Puppets is a 3-hour long workshop for directors and anyone else interested in how puppetry can be incorporated into a production. Drawing on a decade of experience, Ross will work practically with participants to show how puppets may be developed for a production. We will then go on to explore how performers can be introduced to puppetry and examine a method for directing puppetry within the rehearsal room.
The workshop will include…
Ross MacKay is the artistic director of Tortoise in a Nutshell where he first directed Scotsman Fringe First winning and New York Time’s Critics Pick, Feral, back in 2013. He most recently directed international co-production, Ragnarok which opens at the Manipulate Festival 2020. Ross has over a decade of experience working with puppetry. He has been a puppetry director for multiple productions including work with Perth Theatre, Dundee Rep, the Lyceum and NTS.
Other workshops in the Working with… season include Working with Designers, 25 February and Working with Composers & Sound Designers, led by MJ McCarthy 23 March.
