Join us for a panel discussion reflecting on the highs and lows of over 20 years creating site specific and location theatre with award winning Scottish theatre company Grid Iron. Over the years they have created performances in all kinds of places from airports to zoos, not forgetting the boat builder’s island in Norway! Come and hear what it takes to make theatre in the most unusual spaces in a panel discussion with Grid Iron’s artistic Directors Judith Doherty and Ben Harrison, and some of their long serving creative and technical team including designer Becky Minto and Production Manager Fi Fraser.
Presented in collaboration with the Envelope Room.
Judith Doherty is the Producer, Chief Executive and Co-Artistic Director of Edinburgh-based Grid Iron. Since their incorporation in 1995 the company has amassed 30 awards and many more nominations for the site-specific and touring work they create nationally and internationally.
Ben Harrison is Co-Artistic Director of Grid Iron. He also works all over the world as a freelance director. Recent work includes South Bend and Jury Play (Grid Iron), Lets Inherit the Earth (Dogstar & Profiliteatern). Upcoming work includes The Buke of the Howlet (Findhorn Bay Arts) which will be presented as an outdoor promenade performance at Brodie Castle.
