Rats Should Weep is a family drama. Ailsa Craig, 1991, with food at a premium, humans at their door, and the birds slowly disappearing, Clan Rattie will do anything to survive.
Laurie Motherwell is a playwright born, raised, and based in Glasgow. His credits include: Old Enough (Traverse Theatre); Platypus Milk (Dirty Protest); Playback (Stag Hart); CyberBuddy (Hopscotch). He is currently developing: Roxana (Modest Predicament); Comes Around (Macrobert Arts Centre); NoMa; Tides Turn* *Waves Break; and Churned.
This year Laurie is a recipient of a New Playwrights’ Award from the Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland. Laurie is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh’s MSc in Playwriting, and a proud member of the Scottish Society of Playwrights.
