How do you lead? How do you want to lead? Work with Elizabeth Newman to hone and develop your own approach to leadership. Currently the Artistic Director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Elizabeth will share her approach to leadership. She will focus on how we can lead through inspiration and defining shared values. She will explore how you can create a team or an entire organisation of leaders with values that celebrate the individual. Her approach clearly defines how an inspirational and shared vision can deliver great results.
Elizabeth is a multi award winning theatre director. She became Artistic Director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre in 2018. Before PFT, she was the Artistic Director of the Octagon Theatre Bolton and in 2017 Elizabeth was named Bolton’s Woman of the Year for her contribution to the Town.
She was previously Artistic Director of Shared Property Theatre Company and Acting Artistic Director of Southwark Playhouse. She has directed over 100 theatre productions during her career. She has also directed for Radio and Television. Elizabeth was the director of Drama for BBC Blast (Digital/online platform) in 2008/9. She is a champion of new writing, acknowledged by the Writers’ Guild in 2013 when she received the New Writing Encouragement Award.
As well as being an artist, Elizabeth has dedicated a great deal of time to exploring how we can use the arts to bring about social change and support place making. This was recognized when she won the Oguntê Make A Wave Award for Women of Social Leadership and named a finalist Young Achiever of the Year Award for Arts. She is also a committed Executive and her innovative approaches to making charities work was celebrated when she was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award by UnLtd.
