After two sold-out Shakespeare readings at the Tron, Stone Soup return with the rarely seen play, King John, which charts the reign of the thirteenth century king who signed the Magna Carta. It is a dramatic account, with war, beheadings, sieges, poisonings, castle-wall-jumpings and a man called Philip the Bastard.
This will be a short-sharp-shock show – part staged performance and part rehearsed reading – bringing the raw energy of the verse to life. Actors will hold their scripts, cheek-by-jowl with the audience. Cakes and ale welcome!
