31st January 2020
Workshop dates are Friday, 31st January, Friday, 7th February & Friday, 14th February all 6.30-9.30pm and participants must be able to attend all three.
Join Blood of the Young's artistic director Paul Brotherston (Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of)) in a condensed rehearsal process examining scenes from a classic text with a contemporary twist. This is an opportunity to experience the creation of work within a larger company and to mirror a full rehearsal process - allowing for learning of new skills and simply practicing your craft as part of an ensemble without the pressure of a production. This workshop is made up of three weekly sessions culminating in an informal rehearsal room sharing of the piece for friends and industry chums.
A great chance to flex your acting muscles or experience this work for the first time, participants will be directed in an ensemble cast in order to stage scenes from a classic work. The process will be entirely led by Paul Brotherston.
Paul Brotherston is artistic director of Blood of the Young, and has been an associate artist at the Tron, for whom he has most notably directed Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of), which was recently nominated for a Critics’ Award for Theatre in Scotland for Best Production and is currently touring the UK. For Blood of the Young he has also directed Daphne Oram's Wonderful World of Sound, Secret Show 1, and Golden Arm Theatre Project.
*To participate you must be available for all three sessions. All three are included in the price above.
