Following Fire Exit’s new show The Last Bordello at the Tron (10 - 17 February), David will host this group problem-solving and advice session drawing on more than 20 years’ experience in making theatre. Bring your own difficulties and David will discuss them with the group and aims to find specific solutions for you to take away.
Participants should come armed with specific questions about anything, but David’s areas of expertise are: Writing, directing, writer-directing, devising; Contemporary, experimental work; Running a company; Funding; International touring; Co-productions; Using technology; Site-responsive theatre; Practice-based PhD research; Questions about how The Last Bordello was developed.
David Leddy’s multi-award-winning company Fire Exit has shown work all over the world from Boston to Buenos Aires, São Paulo to Santiago, Milan to the Isle of Mull. He has been described as a ‘leading theatrical innovator' by The Times as well as a ‘maverick’ (Guardian), an ‘institution’ (Independent), a ‘genius’ (Scotsman), a ‘master’ (Estado de São Paulo) and an ‘iconoclast' (The List). He has mentored emerging artists and taught masterclasses at prestigious institutions from Brazil’s Nucleo de Dramaturgia to Yale University.
