In this practical workshop for theatre makers, participants will explore best practice for collaborating with teenage performers and approaching stories and issues facing young people today. Lou will share her learning from her recent project which uses irreverent humour, drag and queer culture to examine at gender, sex and sexuality for a teenage audience.
Lou Brodie is a performance maker and applied artist based in Scotland. Through an artistic process rooted in social practice and conviviality Lou produces art works and events in collaboration with communities, people and place. Lou works predominantly with children and teenagers creating projects that celebrate and empowers their voices. Her work takes on a variety of forms in response to the content and inquiry of each new project. Lou has worked with a range of companies and artists including; Visible Fictions, Tramway, Random Accomplice, The Arches, macrobert arts centre, Lyra Theatre, Imaginate, Mammalian Diving Reflex and Nic Green.
