Cora will lead a full day workshop focusing on the various creative processes and practical means by which she has got her productions off the ground. Discussing productions including her recent fringe hit What Girls Are Made Of, Adam, Glasgow Girls, Room and GRIT. Cora will share processes of working with real life stories, dramatising real life, using verbatim, using cross form disciplines. She will also share experience of attaining funding, getting producers behind an idea and the dos and donts of pitching ideas. In the second half of the day we will use some simple devising tools to create the starts of ideas. Please come with a written synopsis of an idea you would like to discuss for feedback.
Participants will get first hand and frank insight into various different ways in which Cora’s shows have come about. These include interrogative techniques used to distil an idea to its strongest form and a chance to practice creating material from nothing working with other creatives in the room. You will strengthen confidence in your own ideas, share in ways to know how which idea to invest in, and how to best relay this idea to the people who can help make it happen.
