WRITTEN + DIRECTED BY KIRSTY HOUSLEY
Surrounded by newspapers detailing horrific local crimes, two sisters build a fragile and fantastical web of stories in order to keep the dangers outside at bay. But when reality finally crashes in, their carefully constructed world can never be the same.
Kirsty Housley is an award-winning director (inaugural Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award, 2011 Northern Stage Title Pending Award) who has worked for Complicite, the National Theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse, the RSC, Told By An Idiot and Paines Plough. Her debut play as a writer is a taut psychological thriller about what happens when you love someone so much that all you want to do is protect them.
Written and workshopped with the support of the National Theatre Studio and New Writing South, Bandages was commissioned by Corn Exchange, Newbury and is funded by Arts Council England.
