The Tron Ambassadors scheme gives pupils the chance to be behind-the-scenes at a working theatre. It enables young people to make a deeper connection with the Tron and gain a better understanding of the industry. As well as providing participants with opportunities to take part in workshops, tasks, and interviewing and observing industry professionals, we also want our Ambassadors to understand the transferable skills they are learning which can be applied to any career path they choose to take when leaving school.
Previous Ambassadors have worked on social media calls, tweet meets and written reviews, press releases and direct mail letters. They have toured the building, met with Tron Staff and organised front of house activities for a Youth Theatre show. Ambassadors have said that being involved in the scheme has been an enjoyable and educational experience that they would recommend to others.
Hi, I'm Ross. I'm 14 and I live in Glasgow.
I like The Kardashians, Katy Perry, fashion and most kinds of music, and I believe in equality, fairness and respect. I like seeing other people succeed for doing their best and being happy, so I don’t like it when people put others down for their appearance or who they are and what they stand for.
I'm happy to be a part of the Tron Ambassadors programme because it feels like it's going to be such a positive, happy experience, and I like that everyone is equal!
I am a 15 year old who has aspirations to become a script writer and director. From this experience, I want to learn and understand more about the theatre and certain roles at the Tron. My inspiration is Tim Burton as he is not afraid to be different and stands out from the crowd.
Hi, I'm Daniel and I'm currently a 6th Year pupil at Holyrood Secondary School in Glasgow studying Advanced Higher Drama.
I have been interested in acting and the arts from a very early age and was a student at Glasgow Acting Academy for 5 years and have also performed with Giffnock Theatre Players. I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity to serve as a Tron Ambassador.
I particularly love the Tron Theatre as it shows productions which are often overlooked by the more 'mainstream' theatres. I believe that it is this commitment to embracing diversity that makes the Tron so special as theatre and the arts should be for everyone. As part of the Tron Ambassadors, I get to see plays and participate in workshops which I know will help me to better understand all aspects of a real working theatre.
Heyo, I’m Lewis; lover of all things timey-wimey, artsy or electric blue. An aspiring actor / director / writer / Doctor Who / anything in the performing arts, I’m unbelievably excited to be part of the Tron Ambassadors for the experiences I’ll be part of, who I’ll meet and what I’ll be seeing. I can’t wait for the year ahead!
My name is Mhairi H. Gilmour. I am 16 years old and in my 6th year at Airdrie Academy, where my favourite subject is drama. When I leave school I hope to go to drama school to further my education.
Apart from my love of theatre, I can play various musical instruments, I’m a giant bookworm and I’m obsessed with the Marvel movies. I am really looking forward to seeing the other sides to theatre through the Tron Ambassadors. I can’t wait for the year ahead.
Hiya everyone! My name is Lillian and I am a Tron Ambassador. I got involved with Tron Ambassadors because I saw it as a great opportunity to catch a glimpse into the workings of a theatre, and it will offer great experience for my career in future.
It has only in recent years that I discovered the Tron, even though I've lived in Glasgow my whole life. In just those few occasions, I have gained a huge appreciation for the theatre as a whole and the work that goes into staging a production. From taking part in Tron Ambassadors, I really hope to continue learning about the theatre and backstage aspects of each production, as well as having a whole load of laughs!
Hi! I'm Morven! I'm 17 years old, and a proud Hufflepuff. I can usually be found in my bedroom surrounded by unfinished drawings, marathoning old episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race and drinking copious amounts of tea. One thing you should know about me is that I'm an aspiring hobbit.
Hi there! I'm Ben, I'm 17 years young and I'm a Tron Ambassador. I love football (I prefer watching it over playing it), chocolate (especially Cadbury Bourneville) and Musical Theatre. My favourite musical is "Dear Evan Hansen" and I would strongly advise you to listen to the soundtrack right now if you're into that sort of thing; trust me, you won’t regret it!
I have been coming to the Tron Theatre most of my life having joined the Skillshops and Youth Theatre workshops more than 13 years ago, and have taken part in many performances over this time. Meeting new people has become much easier thanks to my experiences at the Tron. I hope to pursue a career in acting in the future because I love theatre and all of its intricacies.
I love cats, my favourite colour is purple, I love meeting new friends and my favourite food is pepperoni pizza. I’m excited to be one of the Tron Ambassadors; I hope I will gain lots of experience that will help me in my future education.
