The Tron recognises the benefits, both financial and knowledge based, of partnership working in delivering education and outreach activities of the highest quality. We have long-standing relationships with both Glasgow City Council and North Lanarkshire Council which we hope to continue and build upon, helping us to be become more involved with individuals and communities outwith the Tron building.
Arts in the City is a multi-media arts project for young people who are, or were formerly, looked after and accommodated by Glasgow City Council.
The project aims to increase the number of these children and young people accessing and engaging with the arts by providing an exciting and inspiring workshop programme. Through workshops, young people can learn and develop new skills in the arts in tandem with developing social skills such as self-confidence, self-expression and teamwork.
The Tron has been involved with Arts in the City since 2006 and now runs the Arts in the City Drama Company for Young Care Leavers aged 16 plus, in partnership with Glasgow Life and Social Services. Participants from this project are then supported into accessing the full Tron programme, in particular being encouraged to join the Tron Young Company, so they can continue their relationship with the venue outwith the Arts in the City project.
