Launched in 2016, Pay It Forward is a fundraising initiative which enables local children and families experiencing disadvantage to attend our Christmas panto for free. When at the Tron, beneficiaries receive ice cream and gifts, and we also organise a Pay It Forward party and offer workshops on the panto tradition to local groups.

Since we launched the Pay it Forward scheme we have raised over £79,000 and gifted free tickets to over 2500 people. We have worked with a diverse range of local charities and community groups to involve their service users including NSPCC, Scottish Refugee Council, Down Syndrome Scotland, Women’s Aid, SAY Women, Saheliya, LGBT Youth Glasgow, Marie Curie, Move On, Geeza Break, South Lanarkshire College, PEEK, Quarriers, Turning Point, Kickin’ On, National Autistic Society, Enable Glasgow and FASS (Families Affected by Alcohol and Substance Abuse).

We raise the vast majority of funds from public collections during our annual panto, along with contributions from local businesses. Thank you to our very generous audiences as well as the companies that supported Pay It Forward 2022, either through a cash or in-kind donation: Davidson Asset Management, GAP Group, Tesco Communities Fund, GH Digital Print, Belle and Blackley, ALBA Facilities Services, WELLA and Superdrug.

There are many ways that businesses can get involved in Pay It Forward such as sponsoring the panto, donating money, collecting items for goody bags or volunteering to help us stuff the goody bags! Get in touch with us for an informal chat about getting involved by emailing development@tron.co.uk or calling Box Office on 0141 552 4267.
