The Tron Theatre is committed to being an accessible venue, offering its audiences a variety of Captioned, BSL and Audio-Described services for selected performances.
Booking Accessible Performances:
When booking, please let us know if you have any specific access requirements and we will do our utmost to accommodate them.
Although there are no viewing restrictions within our auditoria, we’ve included advice below on choosing seats to ensure that you get the most out of the service you require.
RELAXED performances
A relaxed performance is for anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed theatre environment. Some elements of our relaxed performances include, but are not limited to: having the freedom to come and go from the auditorium as you need; a dedicated chill space out with the auditorium; a venue pre-visit; an access pack, as well as a safe and encompassing environment for you to enjoy the performance.
The Tron team is dedicated to making relaxed performances accessible to you and are happy to answer any questions you may have.
Whilst we advise booking tickets in the front section of our auditorium, there is no restricted view of the stage from any of our seats.
British Sign Language Interpretation
There is no restricted view of the stage from any of our seats. All our seats are suitable to see the signer with the exception of seats in Row I on the side of the auditorium where the signer is standing. Please call Box Office for show specific information.
Audio Description
Audio Description can be accessed by using our new Mobile Connect App, by Sennheiser. Mobile Connect works in the Main Auditorium and the Changing House and there are no seating restrictions.
All audio describers are trained by Audio Description Scotland. To find out more, please visit www.adascotland.com.
Assisted Listening
Our Sennheiser Mobile Connect App (details below) can be used to access a new assisted listening service which replaces our old Infra-Red Loop System. Full coverage is available throughout the auditorium.
This works with standard headphones, hearing aids or cochlea implant.
Assisted Listening will help to increase volume of show audio for customers but please be aware that sound levels may vary dependant on the show. Should the performers on a particular show not wear individual microphones their voices are instead captured using one atmospheric microphone above the stage. This means the sound through the headphones will not be as loud as if the actors were wearing individual microphones.
Induction Loop
Our Box Office has an induction loop installed, simply switch your hearing aid to the ‘T’ position.
This new service is provided via an app on a mobile device which utilises our in house WIFI network to deliver you the best quality sound available using your own headphones or hearing aid.
The app is available free from the Apple App or Google Play Store and has a demo mode for you to try out in the comfort of your own home. Get your app from:
If you do not have a smart phone there are limited numbers that can be borrowed, however you will have to use your own headphones.
To use your hearing aids or cochlea implant, you must request a neck loop adapter from us – these come with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, if your device requires an adaptor to use this connection type, please bring it with you.
Once connected to your device, switch your hearing aid to the ‘T’ position.
When booking, please let the staff know that you require to use this system so full details can be issued to you.
Due to the design of our auditoria, we do not have dedicated wheelchair spaces and need to prepare a space for any wheelchair user by removing existing seats. Customers requiring a wheelchair space are asked to contact the Box Office directly on 0141 552 4267 prior to booking their tickets.
