Following the phenomenal success of Sub Rosa, Fire Exit/David Leddy and Tron Theatre present White Tea, direct from its world premiere at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. White Tea is a complex, multi-layered piece of visual theatre from the ‘brilliant site specific theatre maker’ (The Scotsman) David Leddy, a ‘theatrical maverick’ with a ‘propensity for fearless experiment’ (Financial Times).
Within a cocoon of white paper prayer flags, Japanese origami birds and colourful projections an absurd, eccentric drama unfolds on beauty, brutality, grieving and giving. White Tea deftly uses the role of tea in British and Japanese life as a way to explore colliding cultures, clashing personalities and the sinister demons that a daughter leaves unsaid.
