Work For Schools

The Curriculum for Excellence places arts at the centre of learning and provides opportunities for the Tron to collaborate with schools both in their venue and at the theatre.

Curriculum For Excellence, Expereinces and Outcomes, Expressive Arts

My learning in, through and about the expressive arts:

  • enables me to experience the inspiration and power of the arts
  • recognises and nurtures my creative and aesthetic talents
  • allows me to develop skills and techniques that are relevant to specific art forms and across the four capacities
  • provides opportunities for me to deepen my understanding of culture in Scotland and the wider world
  • is enhanced and enriched through partnerships with professional arts companies, creative adults and cultural organisations.

At Tron Participation we understand the importance of interdisciplinary learning and have this at the heart of any work we deliver with schools. Drama is a powerful tool that can bring any topic to life whether it be Science, Social Studies or Numeracy. The Tron have a firm understanding of CfE and implement the experience and outcomes in every workshop we deliver.

Through our new Drama Officer post, the Tron aims to build upon and form new relationships with schools.  We want to interact with schools regularly throughout the academic year rather than solely targeting them for key performances.

We plan to allow schools to interact with the Tron via:

  • weekly blogs
  • video diaries
  • virtual tours
  • Glow Meets
  • Department focused articles
  • uploaded lesson stimuli linked to current Tron productions
  • working with visiting companies to share information
  • as well as workshops, tours and relevant schools performances we already offer.
  • We aim to work with other organisations to share best practise and resources e.g. links to Imaginate’s Glow page to access their Evaluating the Arts online resource

Our Glow area will launch in August 2011 you can find it HERE

Bespoke Workshop Program

The Tron has a wide variety of workshops that can be tailored to your school's needs in line with Curriculum for Excellence. Workshops available look at: Transition, Relationships, Performance Skills and Techniques, Storytelling and many more.

If you are working on a specific topic and would like to explore this through drama, we can also write a bespoke program to fit your needs.  All Tron programs of work vary in length depending on your school's requirements. We can deliver a one off session or block of workshops ranging from 4 – 8 weeks.

If you have an idea or would like to discuss a bespoke workshop program contact the Participation Team on 0141 559 5318/5310 or email participation@tron.co.uk
