Partnership Working
The Tron recognises the benefits, both financial and skill/ knowledge based of partnership working. We have long standing relationships with Glasgow City Council and North Lanarkshire Council which we hope to continue and build upon.
Arts in the City
Arts in the City is a multi-media arts project for young people who are, or were formerly, looked after and accommodated by Glasgow City Council. Arts in the City aims to increase the number of children and young people looked after or formerly looked after by the City Council accessing and engaging with the arts by providing an exciting and inspiring workshop programme. Through the workshops young people can learn and develop new skills in the arts in tandem with developing social skills such as self confidence, self expression and team working.
The Tron has been involved with Arts in the City since 2006 and now run the Arts in the City Drama Company for Young Care Leavers aged 16 plus in partnership with Glasgow Life and Social Services.
Participants from this project are then supported into accessing the full Tron programme, in particular the are encouraged to join the Young Company, so they can continue their relationship with the venue out with this project.
NL Studio
NL Studio is an adult mixed ability drama group run in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, Learning and Leisure. The group meets weekly for 2 hours within Bellshill Cultural Centre, North Lanarkshire and attend up to 4 performances a year at the Tron.
Now in its 5th year the project has gone from strength to strength. The workshops allow participants to develop new and existing drama skills and techniques as well as developing social skills and learning about one another. Attending performances allows them to experience different theatrical styles which in turn influences their practice.
Alongside a professional creative team the group work towards presenting a full scale production each year, allowing them to utilise skills learned in weekly classes and further develop key social skills.
